Abstract
Howell was surprised with the news during an Oct. 21 broadcast at WRHI studios and will formally receive the award at the association conference on Jan. 13. Several Winthrop alumni who work in Charlotte, N.C., Rock Hill, S.C., and Greenville, S.C., media nominated or wrote letters in support of Howell for the award.
