Abstract
GRETINA is a Gamma-ray tracking array used to study the structure and properties of atomic nuclei. We ran simulations of different coaxial dead layer thicknesses in order to obtain a simulated graph which is close to our experimental data. There were two experiments studied, one from the LBNL using a Cesium 137 source, and an experiment performed at the NSCL using a Cobalt 60 source. The results of these simulations, as well as an analysis of appropriate simulated coaxial dead layer thicknesses, is discussed. The finished product will then be disseminated at the fall meeting of the Division of Nuclear Physics of the American Physical Society in Vancouver, BC.
