The Shifting Memory of the Boer War in Newfoundland

The Boer War is a conflict that has passed out of the living memory of Newfoundlanders in the modern day, but from the early 1900s to the 1960s, it was alive and well. The Boer War war portrayed by Newfoundlanders as a source of improvement of the Boer people, the British Empire itself, and of the future generation of Newfoundlanders through organisations such as the Arm Lads Brigade of Durrell Newfoundland.
